Richmond College Traditions
Important aspects of the coordinate system are the well-established traditions that each college sponsors. For Richmond College, these traditions establish meaningful relationships between students, faculty and administration.
Investiture Service
First-year men are formally accepted into the college and introduced to its history and symbols with a focus on the honor system.
Homecoming Dance
This annual social event is held during Homecoming Week sponsored by the Richmond College Student Government Association and the Richmond College Sophomore Cabinet.
Leadership Dinner sponsored by the Richmond College Dean's Office
An annual dinner to show appreciation of student leaders' commitment to the College and the University. Student leaders share their organizations' goals for the year.
Senior Banquet
An annual dinner honoring graduating seniors and recognizing their contributions to the University of Richmond community. A keynote speaker addresses the seniors and awards are presented.
Graduation Reception and Candlelight Ceremony
Senior men and women gather with their parents and guests at this social event. Following the reception, the Candlelight Ceremony is a final opportunity to reflect on experiences at the University.
First Fridays
First Fridays is a Richmond College program in which the dean and associate dean visit students in a selected residence hall on the first Friday of each month. Their purpose is to promote communication and build relationships with the students of Richmond College while enjoying pizza together.
