This award was established in 1930 by Colonel Thomas Branch McAdams, an alumnus of the Richmond College Class of 1897. Colonel McAdams was the executive manager of the State Planters Bank and Trust Co. and a president of the American Bankers Association. He established this award for a student in the junior class of Richmond College who has rendered the most outstanding service to the University and to their fellow students.
The selection is based upon a consideration of character and leadership, with special reference to loyalty to the University. The recipient of the Branch McAdams Prize will have their name listed in the Commencement Program on the year of their graduation.
