Programs
Richmond College hosts a variety of dynamic and engaging programs open to the entire campus community - all University of Richmond students are encouraged to participate. Richmond College also collaborates with other campus partners to offer programs to reach a wider audience. Our programs aim to build community and student belonging, but they are also fun opportunities to get to know the Dean's Office Staff.
Cup o' Joe
Cup o' Joe was created and named after our current Dean of the College. It is a pop-up program that occurs once a month in front of Whitehurst to build connection, affinity, and Spider Pride. Students are encouraged to swing by, grab a treat, and get some Richmond College swag.
Find the Dean
Find the Dean was created as a fun opportunity to engage with students on our Instagram and offer them a chance to win some Richmond College prizes. During #FindtheDean Week, clues will be offered through our Instagram feed, and students will then have to find the dean somewhere on campus. Not only is this program interactive, but it is also an excellent opportunity to explore the hidden gems of our beautiful campus.
Four-Year Roommate Dinner
The Four-Year Roommate Dinner is a unique program hosted in conjunction with Westhampton College to celebrate Spiders who have remained roommates all four years at the university.
Meet a Dean
Meet a Dean is a tabling program created to expand outreach from the Dean's Office. At various times during a semester, one of the deans will table in Tyler Haynes Commons to connect with students, faculty, and staff and share resources.
Speakers
Throughout the academic year, we invite and host speakers on campus who share their expertise on a specific topic. In the past, we have hosted poets, social media influencers, motivational speakers, and others.
Study Breaks
Richmond College hosts two study breaks during the academic year, one in the fall and one in the spring, each with a specific theme. Study Breaks are a fun way to boost morale during finals week with food and snacks.
You Matter: Fight the Stigma Month
Throughout the month of September, Richmond College will host events to educate and promote mental health topics, and address mental health stigma. This program was created to highlight the importance of well-being and help-seeking behaviors among college students.
