Pass the Gavel: New RCSGA Leadership
On April 5th, 2023, Richmond College Student Government Association (RCSGA) held its annual Pass the Gavel event.
This event provided an opportunity for the current RCSGA members to reflect on their progress during the academic year while also welcoming a new RCSGA body. It was also an opportunity for the outgoing president, Joseph Coyle '23, to reflect on his leadership.
"Serving as President has meant so much to me. Being able to be the intermediary between the student body and administration has been truly eye-opening. I've been able to see a bit more of how the University operates, and it gave me suggestions, ideas, and perspectives on how to improve the school," Coyle said.
While we will undoubtedly miss Joseph and his Spider Pride, Pass the Gavel was also a reminder that with new leadership comes the opportunity for new ideas, all committed to the University's continued progress — a commitment shared by the incoming RCSGA President, Derek Gilmore '24.
"The ways in which we can improve student life and create a more unified campus have been on my mind since I first came to Richmond," Gilmore said.
We wish him and all of RCSGA the best of luck for the 2023-2024 academic year.
