You Matter!
The importance of mental health and well-being are growing topics in higher education. Students today face significant challenges and there is still a stigma in seeking support for one’s well-being. Therefore, during the month of September, Richmond College hosted several events to educate and promote mental health topics for the campus community and address the stigma.
This year, the events included a panel, a self-care day, and a pop-up program, all of which seeking to encourage students to participate in the conversation about mental health and engage in different self-care activities to promote one’s well-being. Moreover, the theme of each event, You Matter, underscores a fundamental and empowering message of not being afraid or ashamed to seek support.
The success of the events was outstanding, and we were honored to have the amazing partnership of the Richmond College Student Government Association (RCSGA), SpiderBoard, and URWELL.
Students at the University of Richmond can seek mental health support through CAPS (Counseling & Psychological Services) and TimelyCare.
